Woraus begründet sich Deutschlands besondere Verantwortung für Israel? What is the basis for Germany's special responsibility toward Israel?

B the Nazi crimes against Jews aus den nationalsozialistischen Verbrechen gegen Juden

Why?

Germany's special responsibility for Israel comes from the Holocaust: the Nazi regime murdered about six million European Jews. Because of this history, Germany sees the security of Israel and the fight against antisemitism as a special obligation. It does not come from EU membership or Christian tradition.
