How to register for the Einbürgerungstest
Updated 20 October 2026
Short answer: You register at an authorised test centre - usually a Volkshochschule (VHS) near you. You fill in a registration form, show your ID and pay the €25 fee. On test day, bring a valid photo ID and your booking confirmation. BAMF marks the test and sends your certificate by post.
Results: BAMF is marking tests taken up to 31 July 2026

- Pay the fee. The test costs €25. You get a confirmation with your test date.
- Prepare. Practise your 310 questions and take a few mock exams.
- Take the test. Arrive about 15 minutes early for the ID check.
- Get your result. BAMF marks the test centrally and your certificate arrives by post. See up to which test date BAMF is marking right now.
