Show answer and explanation
D State power derives from the people. Die Staatsgewalt geht vom Volke aus.
Why?
Popular sovereignty (Volkssouveränität) means that all state power comes from the people, as Article 20 of the Basic Law says. The people elect parliaments, which control the government. No king rules over the people, and the Constitutional Court is bound by the constitution, not above it.
Remember: Souverän = the people.
