Why?
Freedom of expression (Meinungsfreiheit, Article 5) is one of the basic rights listed in the Basic Law. Owning weapons is not a basic right; it is strictly regulated by law. 'Faustrecht' (law of the fist) and 'Selbstjustiz' (taking the law into your own hands) are forbidden, because only the state and its courts may punish.
